‚Fashion Victims‘ heißt die Performance der Künstlerin Yolanda Domínguez und soll den Einsturz der Textilfabrik in Bangladesh, bei der 1127 Menschen umkamen, mit dem Modekonsum in der westlichen Welt in Beziehung setzen. Und zum Nach- und schließlich auch Umdenken anregen. Und das auf bestürzend gelungene Art und Weise, wie wir finden.

“Fashion Victims” is an urban action inspired by the recent events in Bangladesh which means to bring into the light of day the real “fashion victims”: the enslaved workers and child exploitation and the millions harmed by the contamination that the factories produce in the production countries. Brands, designers, bloggers, media… the fashion world cannot dodge the facts and look the other way. We are all responsible for this reality. This is an appeal for responsible production and consumption, both for people and the planet.”
